An Artistic Director plays a significant role in the culture of a theatre.
An Artistic Director is responsible for choosing the plays you see, and for
hiring the actors, directors and designers who bring those plays to life.
But an Artistic Director is not the most important member of a theatre company.
That person is you. Whether you are a long-time LTW Season Subscriber, or today
is your first visit, the artists and I wish to welcome you, and thank you for
being here with us. We consider you the core of our family - without you, our
creative efforts would be futile. Our purpose is to entertain you, engage you,
uplift you, and enlighten you through the magic of theatre. With your support,
LTW is thriving. Jeremy Thompson’s creative vision brings us a marvelous selection
of plays for the 2006-07 Season, which will surely continue LTW’s tradition of
excellence. Our stage is graced by some of Tucson’s finest talent - and the actors
you know and love will continue to delight you with a range of exciting, hilarious,
and touching performances. The future is bright. As your new Artistic Director,
I bring twenty-eight years of experience as a theatre artist. My background
includes work as a theatre director, actor, designer, producer, professor, and
manager, in venues of all sizes, all over North America. More importantly,
however, I bring a commitment to you - to giving you dynamic, professional,
exceptional theatre experiences - and to your ever-increasing enjoyment of live
theatre. Thank you for choosing to be part of the LTW family. We appreciate you,
and look forward to seeing you again soon.
All the best,
Sabian Trout
